Kev is in Beijing this weekend. Will be back tomorrow morning and bringing his brother and sis-in-law with him. We’re so excited! I even washed a window; the room they’ll be staying in. But part of me thinks I shouldn’t have because clean windows is not characteristic of China. Oh well, the rest will be dirty for them to see.
Been reading/listening to a few books recently. Has anyone used LibriVox.org? (I also like readprint.com.) It’s free because the books are classics. I can download the audiobooks onto my iPod and we have a little portable speaker unit. I’ve listened to Anne of Green Gables, Anne of Avonlea, Anne of the Island, but they don’t have all the books in the series. Next on the list are Heidi (i loved this story as a girl) and North and South (by Elizabeth Gaskell). Also, I love anything Jane Austen era.
In the “middle” of:
1) Malcom by George MacDonald (edited by Michael Phillips).
2) Sacred Parenting by Gary Thomas; awesome book so far!
3) Repenting of Religion by Greg Boyd; just read the preface this morning.
I usually have about three books started at once and it takes me several months to finish them. Reading is not at the top of my priority list, but I enjoy it!
Here’s the pictures I promised from the previous post…
Have a great week!
